Some pics of the mall today! Yes, this is my second time this week! :)

Melody & I met up at the mall this morning. We had a blast! Melodys babies are SOO Cute! Just precious! Please see pics below. Melodys babies awake and hungry..and then fed and fast asleep! Mine after being fed...too bad mine just aren't good at sleeping after they eat! We caused a freak show at the mall by the way! Tons of people were asking if they were quads. Mel said at the end we should have just said they were since so many people were staring and asking!

A Day in the life of raising twins

Just so i can look back in a couple of years and remember what my life was like at the beginning. I wanted to do a day in the life of twins. But before that i wanted to quote the shirts Paul and i wear with pride every once in a while

My shirt says:
"One Day with Twins: 24 Diapers
14 bottles
6 bibs
4 changes of clothes
0 sleep
"It's a good thing they're cute"

Pauls shirt says it all too!
2 cribs: 600.00
2 bikes: 300.00
2 college educations: 100,000(really in 18 years this will be EACH, so for us x'3)
Being the father of twins: priceless!

I'd like to talk about my shirt first. First of all if i actually tabulated the amount of diapers i'd have to say it's probably more. There are 14 bottles because we still feed them at 6,9,12,3,5,7,9. That's ALOT of bottles to clean every day. UGH! Then the bibs...who needs bibs! I probably use them once a day but we use burb clothes all day since they still spit up so much. Lately, both girls have been having some back luck with diapers leaking...both #1 & #2 so i change their clothes at least once or twice a day...there have been times where i've done way more than 4 changes of clothes a day!

Now to our daily grind. Paul gets up about 3 or 4 depending on if we get woke up by someone crying wolf in the middle of the night. The girls just don't sleep like Hannah did when she was a baby. I hear them peep(for lack of a better word) normally at least once or twice a week. That doesn't seem like much but when your going all day long 7 days a week...it's ALOT! Anyway i get up dragging my whole body out of bed around 6ish...Sam gets up about 5ish so i get her out of bed after she screams for a bit and take her into paul who's already furiously working. He holds her till after i get up at 6a and take a shower. Then if he hasn't gotten the girls up while i was in the shower(which he normally does) i get out of the shower and get them up. Taking a shower has always been my one "getaway" a day! I have to get up and take a shower or i just can't get moving. So then at 7a paul either goes to work or goes to the office to work on Tue & Thur. On Mom, Wed & Fri he goes straight to work and gets home about 330ish. On Tue and Thur he stays here and takes Hannha to school at 830ish. So on Mon, Wed and Fri after Paul leaves we normally play till around 730ish and then we eat breakfast. While we're eating i normally feed the girls puffs and put them in their bumpos on the table with me. Then after breakfast around 8a i put them down for their first nap. They sleep till about 845ish and then they get up and we play till about 9a then i feed them. Around 915ish i change diapers and then we play some more. I normally have to move them around from the floor to the exersacucers to keep them busy so they don't get bored with playing with one thing. I make sure they get some floor time rolling around now so they learn to crawl asap. Around 1030ish i put them back down for another nap and they sleep till around 1130ish. At 11a while they are sleeping Hannah and I eat lunch as fast as possible so we get to eat in peace and quiet. Then when they get up i try to play with them for a few minutes so i get as close to noon as i can before i feed them again. After 12noon we eat, play some more and do the same thing over and over agin. I keep them on this strict schedule b/c it really works for me. They are much happier on a schedule and i know what's going on when myself. During naps i have tons to do on top of trying to do some selling on ebay. I load the dishwasher, wash and fold clothes, clean up messes, play with Hannah and give her as much attention as possible, deal with contractors and more. Paul gets to go to work and have real adult conversations. I think that's the one thing i've missed being home for so long and esp now that Julia is gone. At least with her here i had someone to talk to...Not that i don't LOVE being on my own in my own house..i just miss talking to people although i talk to Melody and compare notes with her at least once a day. It's nice because we are both home with no one to talk to most days.

I forgot to say, Hannah is getting ready to start a new school Aug 22nd. Luckily we decided to hold her back because of her bday b/c she's went soo backwards potty training wise that we wouldn't be admitted to the upper class b/c she's back to being totally not potty trained. We've give up and don't talk about it and when she's ready she'll tell us.

I've written a book and babies are crying i'll write more later!

The New Life of a MOM WITH MULTIPLES! LOL!

We are teaching the girls to hold their bottles...something we regretted not teaching Hannah to do although i don't think she would have held it anyway since she didn't like eating. Life is so different with two babies that thrive for food constantly! SOO MUCH LESS STRESSFUL! I wanted to show everyone what the life of luxury with twins looks like! I just started proping them up in their bouncys with their bottles. I still have to push the bottle up every few minutes so they don't suck in air but this is nice since before this i would feed one at a time while the other would sit in the exersaucer crying while one was eating. Normally i'd feed Sam first since she eats very very quickly...at the same time i thought it wasn't fair to Sarah to always end up getting fed last and crying bloody murder while Sam got food first. Before i forget..Mel's baby Sydney(the smaller of the two) is OFFICIALLY CRAWLING! I'm so excited for her and so happy things have turned out soo well for her and Ben! Her girls are just precious and very healthy considering all they've been through! We are going to their 1st bday party in a couple of weeks...i can't wait to see all the girls together for the first time if we don't make a mom play group before then! Enjoy the pics...

More pics of the girls from yesterday

I put the girls in these precious little dresses i bought from my friend/mom of multiple buddy. Her girls were born right around xmas 2 years ago and between mel and I we are making out like a bandit buying her precious boutique clothes. 1 dollar a piece! What a deal! We got them all dressed up to go to the mall. Paul said every little old lady that walked by flirted with the girls(althought he thought they were flirting with him when i wasn't around). LOL!!! He said one guy looked at them and said "man they are identical"! SO, can anyone tell them apart? I can...I think Hannah can...Paul can most of the time. No one else knows who's who!!!

Family Outing

First and foremost here are pics of our new "kid/baby friendly" living room. Talking about 2 play rooms in our house...we have a real one upstairs and now a "makeshift" one in our living room. The girls...all three of them...love it! They can see us now when we are in the kitchen and they are much happier now.
Second of all we had our first family outing today. Paul took us all to the mall. He took Hannah to the big play area in the mall while i went shopping with the twins to find something to match the red outfits i bought for the twins for our family pics. I can't figure out why i can't find one red shirt/outfit in any store in Houston. I went everywhere looking for something dark red to match the jumpers i bought for the girls. Nothing. So finally i decided to put her in pink instead of red. They won't all match, but that's ok. We mostly going anyway for her 3 year pics but we're going to do the family pics while we're at it. Anyway i guess i'll make an appt for next week to take them since i've found something for her to wear now.
Anyway back to the shopping trip to the mall. We had a GREAT TIME! It was definitely like a four ring circus with people staring at us and mainly at the twins...but that's ok..i like the attention. I'm proud to say they are all mine...except when they are pouting! LOL! ANyway we went to eat lunch at CPK and they did GREAT! We kept them in the stroller and fed them some puffs the whole time and they liked it. Gosh those puffs are such a life saver...the twins are like little birds waiting for mom to feed them. You just say PUFFS and they are making noises waitng for the puffs to come their way! They LOVE them! Anyway after that we went to the middle of the mall and fed them their bottles and they were ok. No fits or anything. I'm not sure if it was a fluke or not...but we had a great day without one tantrum!
Tonight we are trying for the first time to skip a bottle. They have 7 feedings a day still: 6,912,3 5,7,9 and so we are trying to drop the 9p feeding since they eat so much anyway they aren't going to starve to death. So after 7p tonight we put them to bed...cross your fingers they sleep through and don't realize we missed their bottle. They are little rascals and love to eat so if they find out we might have a crappy night. We'll see.
Think that's it for now!
Have a great weekend! I think we're finally starting to feel like our lives are semi getting back to normal. The girls are happier day by day and it makes me happier and not so stressed out. Now if we could get rid of these darn people who are working on the bathroom i could get out more and take the girls to some moms of multiples play groups!

Family Feast

I went to Familyfeast.com last night with my moms of multiples group. We had a blast. I left Paul with the girls about 6:15p and they were ALL crying! Mel said same with her. Paul said they all cried till about 7p and Hannah stood by the windows in the dining room waiting for me to come back! POOR BABIES HAD TO STAY WITH DAD FOR A WHOLE 4 hours! LOL!!!
There were about 15 people there including Melody who i haven't seen in a while and it was a really fun time. I met a few people who i will probably end up hanging out with alot b/c they have twins that are in my girls age range. Allison has 10 month olds, Kourtney has 6 week olds and then Melodys are almost 1 and mine are 7 months...so it's a nice age range. Allisons are 23 lbs already...i couldn't believe that considering my 3 yr old only weight 28 or 29lbs! All the ladies go the the infants playgroup and i plan on attending one really soon. I wanted to go 2 weeks ago and had it all plannned out that mom & dad would come over and watch hannah so i could go...BUT the girls ended up with runny noses and were'nt feeling too well so i cancelled. Now that they are well i hope she has one sometime soon...Mel went to the last one and said the babies had a blast. Anyway i didn't actually make a meal last night, i was too busy socializing and getting in as much adult conversation as i could but i did buy a couple of meals. They are all really low in fat and healthy for you...so i'm really excited to try them. We'll see!

Think that's it for now...we're planning on having family pics done soon...i just have to find Hannah an outfit that matches the girls outfits i bought. We should have the pics in the next week or two. I'll put them up once i get them!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Birthday Hannah!!!

At 9:30a three years ago on a Sunday...Hannah was born! I just can't believe how much she's grown in THREEE years! She has turned into a little lady. She talks like a grown up, she loves makeup & jewerly, she loves shoes & she loves to dress up, she loves playing outside, she loves riding her bike and she's very athletic, she loves chasing the dogs, swinging, riding her barbie bike, reading books, counting, singing, dancing to dora, taking pics with mom & dads camera, playing with the girls toys, and she's STILL not my champion eater(somedays only eating a hot dog and a doughnut! A little story about school yesterday. I let her get herself dressed and she wore a really cute dress. I knew she had some khaki shorts on underneath because at school they play hard so i let her just so she still looks like a little lady when sliding down the slide etc. Anyway when Paul brought her home she had on a different pair of shorts. I couldn't figure out why school would change her shorts so i asked her. Paul butted in and told me she had out on TWO pairs of shorts under her dress and he made her take one pair off before they got to school. I had no idea. Anyway, i thought that was so funny.

Anyway my baby is now very independent and such a sweetie. Sometimes she talks back and sometimes she ignores you...All in all though it's been a great experience raising her and she's really brought so much love to all our lives. Her sisters LOVE HER SOO Much! They just watch her and you can tell they already want to hang with big sis and do everything she does. One day we will have three walkers, talkers, & our babies will all talk back to us. I see days where they'll all gang up against us and i look forward to those days...because it'll be an experience and a challenge.

Well think that's all for now. I'm attaching a couple of pics of Hannah wearning the dress up boa & earrings & bday crown from Grandma & Grandpa Myers. Hannah loves the whole ensemble although she did say she can't wear the earrings and she wants me to save them for her till she gets older and is allowed to wear earrings...although they are clip on's and i told her she could wear them! :) She's soo funny! Enjoy the pics!
Love,

Brenda

More Pics of Hannah's bday party!

Hannah's 3rd Birthday!!!

What a great birthday party Hannah had today! She had such a great day and received soo many nice presents. We just had my family over and our neighbor Charlie across the street came over too. He is a very sweet older man who's a widow and kinda like hannah's 3rd grandpa! She yells hello to him all the time and when i bake a cake i always take some over to him! Anyway i think her favorite present was...the motorized barbie Jeep! Surprise! Between Hannah and Allison they rode most of the day except for when we were eating lunch! She also received a scooter, a training wheel bike and this huge tent system that takes up our whole living room!

Here are a few pics of the girls as well as a couple of my friend Megan and her girls Charley and Maddy. Megan came over yesterday to visit and her girls had such a good time with the babies. There was no fighting over who was going to hold who...there were enough babies to pass around! Luckily my girls were in a good mood...they just loved having someone to hold them for a while.

In the high Chairs Sarah is on the left and Sam is on the right. We just got new high chairs because they are really growing out of the bumpos. These keep them in and i don't worry about anyone falling on the floor!

In the crib Sarah is also on the left and Sam on the right...They were having a good day that day too!

Tomorrow is Hannah's bday party and i've decided she's getting a 4 wheeler barbie jeep! I think she's going to LOVE it! I sure hope so! I'll add more pics tomorrow after her family party!

A Bad week for us!

We've had a pretty stressful week with the girls so far. First and foremost both girls are getting up at night crying...i'm assuming because their teeth are coming in...YUCK! I've been feeding them tylenol and baby orajel all day everyday! I know this too shall pass...o but i didn't miss this after Hannah made it through this stage! :)

Second of all the girls are in fact sick. Their noses have been running and running and running. Poor babies...i feel so bad for them. Luckily they are troopers just like Hannah was and it doesn't really seem to bother them and the only sign i have of a cold is snot all over their faces.

Third of all I was holding Sam today and Paul noticed that her toe looked bloody. We took her to a bright light to check it out and sure enough somehow her middle toe nail got ripped off...completly! Poor Poor Baby! I feel so bad and cringe just thinking about it. I have no idea when or how it happened...

Lastly, we're planning Hannah's 3rd bday party...it's going to be very low key this year. We didnt' invite anyone other than family and Amy and her family. Amy won't be coming because they are in FL this year...so really it's just Mom. Dad, My sisters and their husbands and one of Hannah's favorite cousins Allison! We're going to blow up the big jumper and put up the pool and grill hamburgers and hot dogs. Should be fun and low key.

O yeah one more bit of info...our bathroom is still NOT done! Pauls shower door came in...but they totally measured mine wrong(we have double showers) and so they have to go back and recut and temper the glass again...after waiting FOUR WEEKS...or maybe even more! I'm furious and so annoyed and my patience is running low. How could this happen!???? So we'll see how long it takes for the SECOND TIME! UGH!

A few more pics...i'm finally learning how to load pics onto the computer

All the girls are growing up so fast. Here are a few pics of The Twins with Hannah & cousin Allison...They were totally acting like big girls holding the babies! It was soo cute!

I thought Sarah was going to take a dive onto the floor here. Hannah had to hold on tight! :)

Sarah just loves taking baths. I took the bathtub thing that hooks over the tub and put it in the sink...saving a bunch of money on water here since we fill up the sink v/s the bath! That's what you have to do when you have to bathe two babies, etc. :>) Next thing you know i'm going to be using the same dirty water for the second bath of the day! JUST KIDDING!

A few more pics...

These aren't the best pics...but see below because my nieces trip down to houston with my in laws is on here now. The girls had a great time...we went to Kemah, Nasa, the childrens museum, Schlitterbahn, the beach for a few minutes & The Aquarium downtown! What a great time we had...i think i had the best time of all...i got a bit of a break from the girls for a few days! What a TREAT for ME!
Enjoy the pics!
Happy Friday the 13th!
