Sam's first Pedi dentist Emergency Visit

Today started out as a really great day.  The girls were all happy, i was happy that everyone was feeling better and we even made it to school on time after all the ruckus w/my dvd player breaking in my car and not being able to watch good ole' Barney.  Well after lunch, i had been folding clothes at the breakfast table and Sam and Sarah kept climbing up on the chairs at the table.  WELL, the last time i told Sam to get down, she slipped and her bottom landed on the chair seat..but somehow she hit her mouth on the table and there was a pretty good amount of blood in her mouth. At first i couldn't see much b/c she was soo upset.  As she calmed down i was able to get her some ice to put in her mouth and actually get her to open up her mouth so i could see in there.  It looked pretty bad...so i called Paul and asked what i should do.  He didn't really know..so i told him i'd bring her up there and if he looked at it and it was bad, i'd take her to find a dr. or pedi dentist, and if it wasn't, i'd take them home.  I got up to his shop and he realized it was pretty bad right away and told me to go ahead and take her somewhere.  There's a little pedi dentist right down the street from his shop..so i took her on over.  I was pretty impressed.  The place was nice and clean, very kid friendly and Sam was all over the cute little chairs they had in the waiting room.

The end result was that the pedi dentist said that: she had in deed torn her gums and we could either have it numbed and cut off or let it fall off.  I chose to let it fall off as i really didn't want a ton of people prying in the poor girls mouth after a week of vomiting.  SO, we went on about our day..and she was fine and not showing any signs of it hurting.  The dr. did tell me if she starts to not eat or anything weird..that i should take her back in for him to look at her.  I'm sure she'll be just fine..i was just worried that she had done some damage to her actual teeth.  Thankfully, that's not the case.  Anyway, here are a few pics from our little incident..don't look below if you have a weak stomach..

Yes, that is the smile she gave me when i told her if she smiled big, she'd get some fruit chews.  Ahh..the things my girls will do for sugar and food!

Yikes! Glad that she is ok.

P.S. For some reason, I am always freaking out about our kids knocking a tooth out.

poor thing!! I always worry about my two slipping out of their high chairs when they crawl into them! They both like to climb up and then stand on them and J even thinks its funny to JUMP in it! Can you say Heart attack!?! ugh!

Hope she hangs in there and so glad that no major damage was done!
